Dear 1851 Alumni,
In November this year, the Foundation for Science and Technology is organising its first Foundation Future Leaders Conference. This event is designed for early- to mid-career professionals in the civil service and wider public sector, in industry, and in the research community, who have an interest in the boundaries between these different sectors. The conference is online and free to attend.
In three 2 hour sessions over three days (17-19 November), the conference will explore questions such as how government uses science, the challenges of setting up and running high tech start-ups, and how universities actually work. Keynote speakers include Sir Patrick Vallance, the Government Chief Scientific Advisor, and Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Manchester. There are panel discussions with significant time for Q&A from the floor, and breakout discussions too.
Details for the conference and how to register can be found in the attached flyer.
